Sahm Ryd
Solicitor
Sahm was admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales on the 10 October 1997. Sahm is a member of the Law Society in NSW and is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Over the course of her career, Sahm has worked primarily in the areas of family law and care and protection (both in New South Wales and Queensland)
Sahm has extensive experience in private practice, as a Government Solicitor and (immediately before returning to private practice in July 2025), was employed as the Acting Principal Solicitor and Senior Solicitor of the Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre (the Centre).
In her roles as Government Solicitor, Sahm worked for New South Wales Legal Aid and then moved to the role as an In-house Solicitor with the Office of Child & Official Solicitor (“OCFOS”), a position within the Queensland Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
Sahm has previously been appointed to the NSW Legal Aid panels of Independent Children Lawyers and Separate Representatives (Family Law) and Independent Legal Representatives (Care & Protection).
Sahm has extensive advocacy experience appearing in both Divisions 1 and 2 of the Federal Circuit & Family Court, the NSW District Court, NSW & QLD Children’s Court, NSW Local Court and the NSW Coroners Court.”
Sahm is the Senior Family Law Solicitor based in Ballina.
