We were lucky enough to encounter Transitional Legal when we received a grant for 102NA funding, and were blessed to work with Lilly and Sahm. While a 102NA grant is usually a roll of the dice that ends in a solicitor doing the bare minimum, Lilly and Sahm were the exact opposite and did everything they could to get our matter over the line and ensured no stone was left unturned. Lilly and Sahm were motivated with a keen sense of justice that allowed them to stick to the facts and not cave to the insanity of the curve balls the other side were trying to throw to distract them. Sahm has a unique expertise in not only the specifics of the Family Law Act, but a deep understanding of caselaw that allowed her to apply caselaw properly to our matter to get the outcome we had been aiming for all along, while maintaining a quiet confidence that appeared to unsettle the other side when their fantastical commentary was challenged. We were amazed at Sahm’s ability to be steady in the face of the chaos coming from the other side and not flinching or moving from a position she knew was right and refusing to negotiate against herself. Sahm’s expertise in representing us at the Judicial Settlement Conference allowed us to “settle” on an outcome that was more favourable than what we asked for before the proceedings even started. I have no doubt that any lawyer that has been given the gift of learning under Sahm will be brilliant, confident, unwavering, and compassionate.
